SUMMER HARVEST FEAST… OPEN FIRE COOKING, FIRE WATER + FOUR HOTSHOT CHEFS

Purchase your tickets now for this fantastic Wild Food Adventure, where we are so excited to be able to give you a sneak peak of our SilvestreWild team of chefs in action (read about SilvestreWild below).  For July’s Wild Food Adventure,  they are coming together to create an unforgettable meal featuring summer harvest ingredients prepared using a variety of wood fire cooking techniques.

The afternoon begins with San Miguel resident and co-owner of CasaTresAmigos, Gunther Maier, introducing you to their hand-crafted Santo Cuviso Bacanora, a spirit made from a single desert plant, Agave Angustifolia.  “Bon Appétit” wrote in July 2015 that Bacanora is “insanely delicious,” and “the missing link between tequila and mezcal.”  You’ll also enjoy passed appetizers and a special SilvestreWild signature Bacanora cocktail invented by our chefs.

Over at the outdoor kitchen area, the chefs will be preparing our meal using wood fires for cooking nearly everything on this afternoon’s menu.  Wood fire cooking takes us back a couple of million years, to the roots of cooking.   An evolutionary step that is thought to have provided better nutrition, which allowed us to develop bigger brains.  It was only about 150 years ago that gas, and later electricity, became the common way to cook.  Watch how the chefs manage the fire and use multi-level cooking techniques to grill, saute, fry and smoke locally grown vegetables, fruits and meats, as they coax amazing flavors out of each ingredient.

With our appetites whetted from the aromas of the food in the air, and the Bacanora which is said to enhance the appetite, we’ll gather at long tables to savor our family-style meal and wine, talk with the chefs and enjoy each other’s company.
