Amigos de la Presa is hosting a Mayan Healing Ceremony on Saturday, March 21, beginning at 6 p.m. Meet at the Amigos boathouse at 5:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin on the shore of the Presa Allende — a short walk from the boathouse.
The Mayan Healing Ceremony is an ancient celebration held to give thanks to life itself, a blessing we receive upon arriving here on this earth. Additionally, it is a way to express gratitude and recognition for the deep connection we have with the universe, the earth, water, air, and fire.The ceremony will be conducted by Azenet Macedo, a San Miguel resident, who is a healer in the Maya-Quiché Priestess, Shuar Shaman and Lakota Women of Medicine traditions. We hope you will join us for this beautiful ceremony, that will grow more powerful with a strong attendance.
The ceremony will take place on the water and on shore. You may elect to either or both.
- A 200 pesos/person contribution for the ceremony is suggested and will be collected at the boathouse.
- 15 kayaks are available for rental on a first come, first serve basis for an additional 200 pesos/kayak.
