Wildlife Care & Conservation
We care deeply about the welfare of birds and wildlife for their own sake and for the ecological health of our community, which is the basis for human health and our economy.
Create a habitat for birds and other wildlife at home. One of the easiest things we can do for urban birds and many other species of wildlife is to meet their habitat needs. Trees, berry producing shrubs, nectar rich plants for pollinators, and a clean water supply are things that you can easily do to provide a habitat for wildlife at your home. See our section below for more information on wildlife habitats at home.
Window strikes are the number one killer of urban birds. Here is information about what you can do to prevent birds from crashing into your windows. Prevent window strikes

Billions of birds are killed annually by domestic cats. Other small creatures are affected as well, such as lizards and frogs.
If you have an outdoor cat or are caring for feral cats, why not try this Birds Be Safe collar? We have conducted a bit of resesarch on the effectiveness of this collar and are providing this research study for your review. We also found that the U.S. Audubon Society is suggesting the use of this collar.
You can find more discussion different perspectives on how you can help you prevent cats from killing birds in the links below.
And, to reduce the feral cat population, please consider supporting local no-kill cat shelters and spay & neuter clinics!!
